Day one of your 4 Day Morocco Desert Tour From Errachidia To Marrakech starts with pickup from Errachidia (ERH) Airport, or from your hotel. From there, you drive south toward Merzouga and the Sahara dunes. Overnight stay in Merzouga.

• Domestic flights from Marrakech run 3 days a week (Ryanair). Arrival is around 7am or 3pm.
• Domestic flights from Casablanca run 7 days a week (Royal Air Maroc). Arrival is at midnight.

After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi). This area is known for high sand dunes, a seasonal lake, fossil spots, small mines, and green oases. It’s a great day for easy walking and desert views.

Start with an off-road ride to an old kohl (eyeliner) mine. Then visit local nomads in their traditional tents and learn about daily life while sharing Berber tea. Next, head to Khamlia, also called the Gnaoua village, to enjoy live music and dancing. Many locals trace their roots to Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, walk through the palm grove, then drive a short distance to the Merzouga wild lake, often called the flamingos’ lake when water levels allow.

Later, ride camels across the dunes. Pause on a high dune to watch the sunset, then continue to your luxury desert camp. In the evening, enjoy Berber drums by the campfire under the stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

After breakfast, leave the dunes behind and travel to Rissani, once the capital of Tafilalet. It’s still an important market town, with a busy souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.

After time in the Rissani souk, continue to Erfoud and visit a workshop that works with fossilized marble. Then drive past the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad on the way to the Todra Gorges. The Todra River carved a deep canyon here, with tall red cliff walls. Rock climbers love this spot. Take time to walk through the gorge and enjoy the views. Lunch is on your own at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades. Stop to see the Monkey Fingers rock formation and a viewpoint over the valley. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

It has appeared in films like Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, plus TV shows like Game of Thrones. Then continue to Marrakech Via the Tizi n’Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Stop along the way for lunch and photos at scenic points. Arrival in Marrakech, drop-off at the airport or your accommodation. End of the tour.
