7 Days Tour From Marrakech – Detailed Itinerary

Day 1Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Your 7 Days Tour From Marrakech begins as soon as you land. A local driver will meet you at Marrakech Menara Airport and take you to your hotel or riad to settle in.

Day 2Marrakech, Tizi n’Tichka, Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Dades Valley (330 km, about 7 hours)

After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel around 8:30 a.m. You’ll head toward the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Along the way, enjoy wide mountain views and small Berber villages, with stops for photos.

Next, visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. Many well-known movies were filmed here, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz. You’ll have free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

Your Morocco desert tour continues to Ouarzazate. You’ll see the Atlas Film Studios (often called the largest film studio in Morocco) and visit Taourirt Kasbah, another important historic site.

Later, drive through Skoura’s palm grove and the Rose Valley, famous for its rose festival and rose-based products in May. You’ll also pass through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, where old adobe kasbahs line the route. Arrive in Dades Valley in the afternoon for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel or riad with valley views.

Day 3Dades Valley, Todra Gorges, Erfoud, Merzouga Desert, Camel Trek (270 km, about 4 hours)

After breakfast in Dades Valley, head toward Tinghir and the Todra Gorge. Berber villages dot the road, and you’ll stop to enjoy the Todra Valley’s palm trees before reaching the gorge. Todra is one of Morocco’s top rock-climbing spots. Take a short walk between the tall gray and pink canyon walls that rise up to 300 meters, then snap a few photos.

Afterward, continue to Tinjdad and Touroug for lunch in a local restaurant. Then drive to Erfoud, often seen as the gateway to the Tafilalet oasis and the Sahara.

In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga near the Erg Chebbi dunes. From here, you’ll ride a camel for about 1.5 hours to reach your Berber desert camp. During the trek, you’ll pause among the dunes to watch the sunset. If you’d like, try sandboarding, take photos, and enjoy the quiet desert views.

At the camp, you’ll be welcomed with mint tea, followed by dinner, a campfire, music, and an overnight stay in the Merzouga desert camp.

Day 4Merzouga Sightseeing, 4WD Tour Around Erg Chebbi (50 km, about 3 hours)

Wake up early to catch sunrise near the camp. After breakfast and a shower, you’ll return by camel to the starting point, or go back by 4WD if you prefer.

Then meet your driver for a 4×4 tour around Merzouga to see more of the Erg Chebbi area. Visit the Hassi Labied oasis to view its old irrigation canals and farm plots. Continue south to the seasonal Srij Lake (when it has water). Next, stop in Khamlia village to hear Gnawa music from a community with deep roots in Morocco’s history.

You’ll also visit the M’ifis mines, known for minerals and fossils. During the day, you’ll have the chance to visit a nomad Berber family living in a desert tent, share mint tea, and learn about daily life in the Sahara. Several scenic stops are included for panoramic views and photos. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Merzouga village for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel facing the dunes.

Day 5Merzouga, Rissani, Nkoub, Draa Valley, Agdez, Ouarzazate (370 km, about 5 hours)

After breakfast, you’ll travel toward Ouarzazate via Rissani. If timing works, you can visit Rissani’s traditional weekly market (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). Then continue through dry pre-Sahara landscapes, where acacia trees are common.

On the way to the Draa Valley, stop to enjoy views of the river that gives the valley its name. The Draa is the longest river in Morocco. Your 7 days in Morocco from Marrakech continues across the Anti-Atlas Mountains. You’ll have free time for lunch, then carry on to Ouarzazate, arriving late afternoon or early evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 6Ouarzazate to Marrakech, Half-Day Guided Tour (200 km, about 4 hours)

After breakfast in Ouarzazate, drive back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. You’ll make a few stops for photos, views, and short breaks.

Arrive around midday and start a guided sightseeing tour with a local guide. Highlights include the Koutoubia Minaret, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, Medersa Ben Youssef, Majorelle Garden, and Jemaa el-Fnaa, Marrakech’s famous main square. After the tour, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

Day 7Transfer to Marrakech Airport

Enjoy free time to relax, explore on your own, or pick up last-minute souvenirs. At the right time for your flight, we’ll pick you up from your hotel or riad and transfer you to Marrakech Menara Airport. This is the end of your 7 Days Tour From Marrakech.
